    If I build an 8x4x4 cage out of wood can I seal the corners with flex seal instead of caulk? Then paint it with drylok.

    You probably could.... Is that the flex seal "rubber in a can"?? I see advertised on TV??

    I have learned that any wood that is in direct contact with the damp soil will rot into soft mush within 10 months.

    One of the best sealing options I have ever heard of is the same resin used to seal/make boats.. I know a guy who sealed his Monitor cage with it 13 years ago, he still has the monitors and the cage.
