    play with monitor
    hope this isn't a weird thing to ask, sadly i have no perception of what is weird to most people to here it goes;
    I want to play with a giant water monitor, maybe even a tegu, but especially a water monitor like varanus salvator or something similar. must be friendly though, because i do mean play since I'm looking for a lizard who likes affection and would prefer to leave with a face :). If anyone lives in the Maryland or DC area and has a big friendly lizard that they would be willing to let me meet and handle, and that i could talk to about husbandry I'd be very grateful.
    thank you.

    Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I feel like this might be a troll post... If not, I think you might be a little confused.... Monitors are not dogs. They're not going to "play" with you and fetch your slippers. While monitors are very intelligent creatures, and they can learn to come on q and wear to use the bathroom, they don't care to please humans. They're not playful, and they're not cuddly. The are predatory lizards and they demand mature respect. So I would strongly advised you to get the idea of a dog-lizard out of your head and just get a puppy.

    If your looking with something to play with, get a bearded dragon, their the only lizard that engoy being played with for a long amount of time. Although they are not that big i have a feeling that is the sort of thing you are looking for. I'm sure loads of people in the DC area will have beardies
