Very nice BP. I don’t weigh my snakes but your critter looks like it could easily eat a rat pup.

A large rat fuzzy or small rat pup is fine. Are you feeding live or F/T? If feeding live, I would stick with smaller prey. Smaller prey = less likely to hurt your snake.

I agree with the chart posted above by Bogertophis for size of prey, but not necessarily frequency of feeding. Once on rat fuzzy's or pups, I would be feeding every 7 days, especially given how healthy your snake looks. No reason to rush growing him.

    That's my two cents.

Agree, & for those who don't know, it's NOT MY chart- it's part of this forum if you know where to find it. I wouldn't feed these snakes (or most any snakes) every 5 days- that's too much IMO too.

Didn't mean to imply it was YOUR chart. :)

However, it's commonly posted here, even by me, but not always with a proper description of feeding duration.

While we are on it, adult (non-breeding) BP's should be fed every other week (every 2 weeks), IMO. I also think, unless a huge adult BP, small rats are fine for life. Even at 1,800G, my female BP skipped meals frequently on medium rats. She does great on small rats every 2 weeks.
