You may want to ask the vet that is open if he would be willing to collaborate (via phone) with the exotic specialist.

You often don't see improvement right away, but I also agree that oral antibiotics are generally not effective with snakes, because of how they metabolize things, so I'm glad you're re-thinking this- good luck.

Hopefully the culture comes back w Baytril as what he needed and it just needs some time to kick in. Regardless, it will be good to know for sure exactly what's causing the problem. I'd like to get a fecal done too but I don't think I'll be able to get a poop out of him between now and then. Thank you! I'll let you guys know what happens.

    Hi there,
Can you give us an update on the RI? My BP may have a similar issues and I was interested to see how your issue played out. Did the oral meds work or did they give him a shot?
Hope it all worked out fine!
    Cheers,
    Nick

I wouldn't count on the OP responding to you. FYI, if you click on a member's name, & then "view profile", you can see when they were last online- "Last Activity". In this case, the OP hasn't posted since 4-17-2020 @ 3:31 AM. I hope it worked out too, but we may never know.
