Has anyone ever played around with hollow core pvc hog panels?

It looks like habitat systems is no longer in business and they made the best cages, by far. I don't know exactly what material they used, but I have heard that it was a hollow core pvc used in the hog farming industry.

I know NERD managed to reverse engineer their cages somewhat and at least a couple other people tried. There must be a reason why all the other PVC builders use a different material, but I think it would be a fun project to try.

    Extruded hollow core PVC

That's what they say anyway. I've never heard of that specifically. Expanded / extruded is what ap cages and others use, but I've never seen it referred to as hollow core.

Yeah I'm about 95% sure Habitat Systems was repurposing hollow pvc hog panels. I heard it was tough to work with, but they could run the heat cable through the panel itself and of course it would last forever.

I can't find ANYTHING on tools and methods to build with that material, though. I might just order some and see how far I can get.

I'm not sure that I would bother messing with it. I don't know how well the heat cable would heat through the PVC or how much of the heat would go down and away from the enclosure? I guess that depending on how big the channels are, you could cut some reflective insulation and put it in there backing the heat cable?

I would rather just build a box out of regular PVC sheet and put a heat panel in there.
