    Albino vs black pastel albino

I've found a black pastel albino bp for sale, I don't see much difference from a normal albino though. Of course I've only seen pictures and it's hard to see much. Should there be a big difference in appearance? I've been thinking about getting another BP and I'm considering this snake. Thanks for any info about these

Black Pastel Albino have the pattern of a Black Pastel and the color of an Albino there is no way to mistake one for another.

Well after being told the snake had sold they emailed me back... that sale fell through. So I bought the snake, it's really small for its age but I'm not sure it's as old as they told me. Plus the cage and everything was incredibly dirty. The only heat source was a lamp without a thermostat that was only used at night.

All that said, I'm going to call this a rescue just like my other BP. Hopefully I can get it eating and growing soon.

Wow really sounds like you have to quarantine that guy! If you have problems identifying the black pastel pattern a really simple way to tell the difference from a normal albino is that the normals have more solid yellow pattern like on this top girl

Thanks Hannah, I figured it out I had just never seen that combo before and had a hard time seeing it on my phone. After looking at the cage and everything a bit closer I'm thinking it was all stuff they had sitting around and put it with the snake to help it sell.

The snake looks healthy other than being small and a little thin (74 grams). I don't see any mites and it seems alert, it quickly moves back under a hide.

I've got the 20 long cage that it came with set up with an UTH for a hot spot and a RHP to get the ambient temperature where it should be.
