Buffy the African Rock Python (progression thread)

Hello everyone. I recently got back into the hobby and purchased a 2021 female African Rock Python. (No it's not my first giant snake). Here I will post occasional updates so anyone who enjoys this species can watch her grow. I've also made an IG page for her so follow it!!

IG page is @buffy_the_rock_python I'm gonna try to be active on it and post often.

This is from the day I got her:

I fed her and fed her and then she went into shed:

    After:

    Gorgeous isn't she???

Thank you, I think so too. She has very bright yellows and a slight iridescence when she's in sunlight.

So small and cute. But we all know that won't be for long.

Gorgeous baby regardless, look forward to seeing her growth.

    Here's a picture from yesterday

Not a lot of action on reptile forums, I've noticed.. not like other forums I go on for my other hobbies.

    Follow Buffy's account on IG, it's buffy_the_rock_python

She's small but I offered her a small rat today (not a rat pup, a small rat) and boom! She pounded it. She's nice and full now with a big lump in her belly. Just sucks that now I can't handle her for a couple of days.

Well, you "could" but it would be self-punishing.

She has never even struck at me. Sometimes she's a little hissy but I never hesitate and just reach into her cage to grab her and she quiets down right away. Outside of her cage she is 100% cool. I've been touching her head every time I handle her to get her used to it and she definitely not head shy because of it. Super tame. I couldn't ask for a calmer snake.
