We took the tape off (doberman puppy)

We took the tape off for a day, but it's back on now for another week, then probably another week after that. She's soooooo cute!!! She's awful at standing still though

The tape was a little too sticky the poor thing lost some hair on her ear when we took the tape off. We tried soaking the tape with baby oil like the breeder suggested but it still pulled hair out. Any advice would be great!

TOO cute!! I love it when their ears are so much bigger than their little faces! She'll grow into 'em before you know it, though.

From my experience, I don't think you can get a decent tape job without sacrificing a little fur along the way. If the tape is so gentle that it doesn't pull off any fur, then it won't stay on at all. (I tried!!) Mira's ears had that stripey look all through her taping experience, and despite all our hard work, we still ended up with one flopped.

I wrapped my Dane's ears with a bit of gauze and then taped them...it helped a lot but it didn't stay on as long as the regular way...but it was worth it

    I miss my baby..RIP Tangerine

I LOVE the look of those ears....gonna be a sharp looking adult!

That's what I'm hoping to do with her! I would love to get into some show! Her dad's side of the family is mostly show champions and her mom's side only has a few. I'm hoping she fills out nicely and does well in conformation shows. Otherwise we'll definitely be in obedience and agility.

Aww that figures. Oh well, I suppose it shouldn't take too long to grow her hair back. That was after 4 days of being taped up for the first time. They started to flop a little after 24 hours, so hopefully her ears will turn out nicely! Did you use the same method to tape her ears? How many times did you post them? That would be such a disappointment to go through all that work just for them to flop again.

I thought about doing that too, but I figured it would probably fall off with all the jumping and running into things. Do you have any pictures of Tangerine?

Good luck with showing!! It is fun as long as you do it for the love of the sport. Too many people get caught up in the competative part of it and before you know it they are not having fun and backstabbing any chance they get. Hang with positive minded people and you will have a blast. Dobies are great in obedience. Have you ever shown before? I don't get to as much as I like. Work tends to get in the way.
