How to disinfect climbing branch that can't be washed?
I bought my BP Noodle one of these: https://www.petsmart.ca/reptile/habi...ml?cgid=500116
However I just realized that the tag says that it can't be washed with soap or detergent because that would make it toxic or something like that. (Not sure if that warning was for people who want to use it with fish though?) The recommended way to clean it is to rinse it with warm water. It's made of polyester resin so I don't think it can be baked either.
Anyone else have experience with cleaning polyester resin branches? I'm wondering if it would be okay to spray F10 on it or wipe it down with rubbing alcohol to disinfect it? Or would rinsing it with water be enough? I want to make sure it's clean before putting it in the enclosure since it came from the pet store, but I also don't want to make it toxic for my BP or anything.

I'd spray it with either F10 or chlorhexidine (diluted as for cages) & either let dry or rinse off if you want.
They're talking about fish & probably because some detergent might remain in the crevices:
"Caution: Never use soap or detergent on any items placed in your aquarium, as they are highly toxic to fish."

How is its temperature resistance? If it can withstand heat, you could place it in the dishwasher (without detergent if you like).
Just a suggestion. I don't have any experience with your particular product, but I sometimes run real wood vines through the dish washer.

The whole toxic thing is if you wash with soap and put it in a fish aquarium according to the petsmart ad. You will be fine to wash it with a little dawn soap or as others have suggested, if you have f10, spray it and let it dry
0.1 Emerald Tree Boa (Northern)
0.1 Green Tree Python (Aru)
0.1 Pueblan Milk Snake
1.0 Mexican Black Kingsnake
1.0 Pied Het Lavender Albino Ball Python
1.0 Yellow Phase Eastern Hognose

Late response but thank you for the advice everyone! I went with spraying F10 and letting it dry since I use that for disinfecting the enclosure.
Thanks for the clarification on the toxicity thing as well, good to know it wasn't referring to snakes.
