    Turkey and Stuff

ok u guys, i'm really excited about my new purchase! i was out running errands and shopping this weekend when i found this really cute and useful gravy boat! it rests on a stand that holds a candle to keep the gravy warm! How neat is that?! so i'm really super excited to be using this at Thanksgiving dinner next week!

also BTW what's your favorite way to cook a turkey? we are going to try a cajun turkey this year with southern sides. i like to oven roast the turkey. whattabout you?

    RIP Mamba

Very slick gravy boat. Never cared much for cold gravy.

    I don't think I ever met a cooked turkey that I didn't like.

I love it brined and deep fried but usually for Thanksgiving it's roasted.

    Re: Turkey and Stuff

I built this slick machine this summer to satisfy my hunger for real BBQ...so the answer for me is absolutely smoked.

Somewhere between 8-14 hours at 225f typically, depending on the bird size. You should!....and always brine even if your bird comes pre-brined. Makes a huge difference.

    Re: Turkey and Stuff

up here in Canada we do our thanksgiving during your American Columbus day. Meanwhile I cook at least one turkey a month from October till march. I do a salt and sugar brine for 72 hours then oven roast for 14 hours at 225°f. it then gets turned into soup, stew and pot pies.
