I, too, enjoyed the ending. I think the writers were more about big production than story, and they left a lot to the imagination of the audience, but still, it was a nice ending.

Here are my thoughts: Bran. Holy cow. If you really think about Bran, he truly played THE BEST game of thrones. Once he became the three-eyed raven, he was able to manipulate the pieces as he saw fit. He orchestrated the outcome of the Battle of Winterfell by giving Arya the dagger, he had the power to warn everyone about Dany but didn't, thus setting up the situation in which all of his enemies and rival to the throne would be removed and/or killed INCLUDING Jon. It is also hinted at that he now can possibly have the power of a dragon as if he finds Drogon, he may be able to warg into him and control him. The Stark family is completely set up after this, and I believe he orchestrated ALL of it in true GoT style. He left me with a very unsettled feeling too because a.) who's to say how long a three-eyed raven will live and b.) even though the council agreed to vote on new kings going forward, who's to say that Bran won't continually manipulate the outcome of said councils, and when he passes on the powers of the three-eyed raven, his successors don't continue to do the same?
    Excellent analysis.

The story was solid all the way through, and the ending was really appropriate. It was just the presentation that failed in the last few seasons. And it's a shame. They really should have just taken their time and done the story justice.

As it is, GoT is one of the greatest fantasy epics ever filmed, but imagine if they could have maintained the quality of the first five season though to the end.

    3. The Iron Throne is dissolved and each kingdom is self-ruling but Tyrion will govern the South from a rebuilt King's Landing, Sansa will rule the North, etc.
    4. Jon goes north, beyond the wall, to live with Ghost in peace (much like a wounded Frodo goes to the Undying Lands in The Lords of the Rings)
I got some kind of right, but blew it for the most part.

I did the math and with those 4 predictions you came up 56.25% accurate. That's far higher than pretty much anyone else

And perhaps, someday, Targaryans and dragons meet again, only with less crazy as they now have "the north" in their bloodlines as well. Perhaps they'll need to return to release the world from the tyranny of the Three-eyed ravens lol

isn't there a prequel in the works? there's more story to tell and maybe they will turn it into a franchise like Star Wars. i for one am ready for the Arya spinoff of her adventures in West of Westeros.

    Re: Game of Thrones SPOILERS

Yeah, the prequel is going to be set hundreds (maybe thousands?) of years before the GoT series during the Age of Heroes supposedly. This is when the first Long Night happened, and I believe pre-Doom of Valeria too. From the articles I've read, there does seem to be some hints that the Valerians/dragons will be included - I think during this timeframe they were still conquering in Essos? I don't know, I haven't read the wikis in awhile lol. I do know this is when Bran the Builder put up the Wall.

I really liked the ending... Even though I've been rooting for Dany from the beginning it was hard and frustrating to see her go all Mad Queen on the city. I knew it was over then . I agree that i wish her descent into madness was more thought out.. Wish we could've seen more of the aftermath after Missandei died rather than just Varys saying she hasn't left the room in days.

Read a theory last night that may be a reach but I didn't mind it. That Drogon, being the biggest and most ruthless dragon is actually Khal Drogo reincarnated. They said he flew to the East towards the dothraki, in which he has done multiple times before, and it seems like he knew about the iron throne which is why he destroyed it?

    Like I said, it's a reach but a theory I don't mind entertaining.
