COVID-19 keeping me from feeding help!

My snake Melvin is at my moms house while I've been stuck at my dads for 2 weeks. Melvin hasn't eaten for a month, and last time he ate he had a small rat instead of a medium one. Should I make an effort to get back or am I alright for another week?
Melvin is over 700 grams, hes not overweight, and usually eats every other week if he has a medium rat. He takes 5 minutes to eat small rats and they don't leave a bump anymore. It's like hes never eaten if he had one.

A male ball python will rarely if ever need a medium rat in its entire life. Especially if its only 700grams. My 1600+, 11yr old male eats a small rat every other week and will still go on a fast for a few months of the year.

Agreed, my males are both a little under 1400 grams and get a small rat every 10-14 days. They eat reliably year round with very few refusals.

As for your current situation another week won't hurt at all.

Best of luck, I hope things settle down soon.

He will be fine. Of more importance is whether or not someone is providing him with fresh water.

Your snake will be fine for weeks even months, it's not an hatchling it will be fine.

I have a 450 grams male right now that has not ate since november, he is ok, it happens more than you think covid 19 or not

Snakes can go a VERY long time without eating (9+ months). Keep an eye on the weight, if you can. You can also find pictures to show you the girth difference between a too skiny, overweight, and healthy snake. For the most part, if the top of the snake isn't triangular shaped, it's still a healthy weight. Ball Pythons are notoriously picky eaters (so I hear), and can go on long fasts (so I've experienced).

Thank you. My mom will not touch him, but when I left he was alright. Last summer he wouldn't eat for about two months, and then there was vacation, when I'm rarely home. I fed him live any chance I got, and then went back to ft when I got back. He lost a considerable amount of weight but was fine.

This is NOT TRUE. Ball pythons should maintain a slightly triangular shape. If a BP is more round than triangular the animal is over weight.

My whole crew ate last Friday. They are good for a while if the need to be arises.
