    my only hope is that he never signs with the vikings - that would be bad news for the lions/bears/packers!

    Id love to see him play again. Great QB. Just think of how great the falcons would have been if we didnt get ride of him.

    Re: Brett Favre set to retire...

    I honestly think he's the most over rated qb to play the game. Yes, he has the records, but he has thrown more passes than everybody else to play and also has more interceptions than anybody else. Plus he always leaves his team in limbo about whether or not he's gonna play and has done this the past 3 or 4 years. Talk about selfish...and those wrangler commercials are awful!

    Re: Brett Favre set to retire...

    OVERRATED???!!!??? Yall are crazy. Just because the press loves the guy doesnt make him overrated. Greatest QB to ever play the game.

    Numbers speak for themselves.

    (Wikipedia)

    Honors and awards
    * Won the Associated Press Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award three times, all in consecutive years (1995, 1996, and 1997; the last shared with Barry Sanders).
    * Was selected to play in the Pro Bowl ten times in his career.
    * Was a seven-time All-Pro selection.
    * Was named to the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team.
    * Received the NFC Offensive Player of the Week honor 12 times.[citation needed]
    * Received the AFC Offensive Player of the Week honor 1 time.

    Records and milestones

    At of the end of the 2008 regular season, Favre owned or shared most of the well-known NFL career records for quarterbacks, including:

    * Consecutive starts by a quarterback: 269 (291 including playoffs)
    * Games started by a quarterback: 269 (291 including playoffs)
    * Career regular-season victories by a starting quarterback: 169 (Regular-season record: 169-100)
    * Career passing touchdowns: 464
    * Career passing yards: 65,127
    * Career pass completions: 5,720
    * Career pass attempts: 9,280
    * Career interceptions thrown: 310
    * Career games with at least three touchdowns: 65
    * AP NFL MVP awards: 3 (1995, 1996, 1997)[89] (tied with Peyton Manning)
    * Career playoff interceptions thrown: 28 (tied with Jim Kelly)
    * Career playoff losses as starting QB: 10 (tied with Dan Marino)

    Favre is one of four quarterbacks to lead the league in touchdown passes four times. The others are Johnny Unitas, Len Dawson and Steve Young.

    Favre is one of three NFL quarterbacks to have beaten all 31 other NFL teams in his career.

    In addition, Favre owns a number of team records, having printed his name into almost every passing category in the annals of Green Bay Packers history. Most recently, he set the team record for consecutive completions with 20 on November 22, 2007, against the Detroit Lions. With 39 "come-from-behind" 4th-quarter wins and three more overtime victories (Packers total of 40 makes him Green Bay record holder), Favre is second only to John Elway's 47 4th-quarter or OT "come-back wins", in NFL history.
