NFL Draft...who do you have as top 3?

Well it's around the corner...I am just curious to see who people think the top 3 picks will be? This will probably change after the combine..

Here are my top 3, whether I agree with them or not, this is how I think it will unwind as of now...

    1. Lions- Matt Stafford, QB Georgia
    2. Rams- Eugene Monroe, OT Virginia
    3. Chiefs- Aaron Curry, OLB Wake Forest. However, I think if the new GM Scott Pioli runs his draft operations the same as he did in New England, I think he will trade down for more picks. The team to trade up will grab Mark Sanchez.

I think you'll be surprised. Kitna is old, Culpepper is beat up and Orlovsky and Stanton really have no business being a NFL starter. To all lion's fans, I'm really sorry, but you're team is screwed for a few more years. There are too many holes in this team. O-line, QB, Defense, another back to share the load with Smith, and another good WR are all needs for this team. I don't know what the lion's will do and I wouldn't pick a Qb with the #1 pick...but I think they will.

a few years? we've been screwed for a while. i'm really hoping Cassel will decide he doesn't want to play second fiddle to brady and we can pick him up along with that kid from georgia in the first round. That way the kid can back up a good QB and not get thrown to the sharks. Barring that i wouldn't be opposed to them picking up Kurt Warner, he has a few more good years in him. Kitna is done, they've been planning on trading him since midway through the season. Culpepper is way past his prime. he was known for being a scrambler and well.. he can't scramble anymore.

Ideally i'd like to see them use the first round picks to get some decent guards. then a good center. our current center is way too small. he's like 6'2 220lb. he should be a TE not a center. i don't care how much heart the kid has, he needs to go.

I knew you've been screwed for a few years...I was saying a few more. But there's no way you'll be able to afford Cassell and Stafford. Plus the Pats will probably throw the franchise tag on Cassell

I agree with the Lion wont be afford Cassel AND Stafford...but I dont think they will place the franchise tag on Cassel, it would cost the Pats about $14.65 Million....I am thinking that is just a weee bit more than the Pats want to spend on a backup....I bet they will have to let him go in the FA market.

thing about it is, is that nobody knows if Brady will be ready for the start of next year. At this point in time it's impossible to tell and everybody that knows anything about football knows that the Pats won't tell a single bit of truth about it. Who knows though, but my money is on Cassell staying in New England for another year.

Oh I know...Scott Pioli is running my team now...Chiefs fans were left completely in the dark regarding Herm's status...and now that he is gone, we now know nothing about HC prospects...sure Haley, Cowher, and Shannahan's name are floating around...but those are all rumors.

AND adding to the way the Pats run their organization...I dont see them spending big money on a backup...Brady has been reported taking snaps and dropping back. I think he will be back by the regular season...but anyway...look at Asante Samuel? They let him go...They also let go Willie McGinest...Adam Vinateri. These are names that you would have expected the Pats to resign...none of these player were bench players either.

I have been reading a lot about how the Pats run their organization, so I can better understand what Scott Pioli may be doing with the Chiefs. From what I have learned is yes...they hold their business close to their chest, not allowing any info to leak. But they also do not spend big money on players...unless your name is Tom Brady.

I would be SHOCKED if they gave a probable back up over $14 million. I suspect they will make him an offer...but I think in the end he will be starting for a different team.

If they DID franchise tag him...that would make him the 6th highest paid player in the NFL, putting him right in front of.....Asante Samuel.

I don't see Cassel in a Patriots Uni next season.

.....NO! We don't need a QB! Thigpen did fine considering he had no OL. We need a linebacking core!

It's interesting how all of these Mock Drafts have the Lions and Chiefs taking QB's...but if you speak with the fans, no one wants a QB in the first round...
