I heard my snake fart for the first time at night too, it woke me up and scared the hell out of me! At first I thought someone was knocking on my window or pulling the blinds up, it was the strangest, loudest sound I've ever heard! After a few seconds I realized it was coming from snake's cage and I went to check it out. The little guy was there, half out of his hiding and I could swear he was looking at me, like "what's the big deal anyway", or maybe the loudness of it caught him by surprise too, who knows...So he stared at me for a few seconds and then went about his business.
