Never seen an obese hatchling/juvie leopard gecko being fed only mealies. Common sense goes a long way... if you have one that is fat of course you should monitor it's food.. but a growing hatchling/juvie from my experience can eat quite a lot of mealies. As they mature once you get them to adult weight then it's always a good idea to monitor that weight.. but I don't monitor or limit growing babies. From my experience they will eat until they are full and then snack on the rest later throughout the evening. I normally place ten to fifteen mealies in their bowls when I feed. The ones with mealies still left in the bowls I only add a few until they are gone then I refill the next day with more.

I have found Fat Tails to be much more of a concern with overfeeding than my leopards.

Anyway Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
