Re: Big News!
I think he did this because USC is about to get SLAMMED by the NCAA for all kinds of infractions, and he's getting out before it happens. My $.02.

Re: Big News!
I think he's going to do great in Seattle if they give him time to turn it around. I always thought he'd come back to the pro's.

Re: Big News!
See now the problem I have with this is. Seahawks are my favorite team, and I can't stand USC. I can honestly say i'm not to found of Pete either.

WOW!!! Been following this, but didn't think it would actually happen. Justin Forsett just shot up my Fantasy Draft list for next year...

Re: Big News!
The timing is right for him to leave. USC has hit a plateau in their game play. It was evident this year they are not the dominant team in the PAC-10. On top of this, they are dealing with possible sanctions stemming from the Reggie Bush case, AND the Joe McKnight hoopla. This reminds me of Jon Callipari leaving Memphis right before they got nailed with those sanctions from the NCAA.
I don't think he will do much in Seattle. He was a shade above .500 in the NFL, and his team degressed during his 3 years in New England. However, the NFC West is one of the weaker divisions so if you are going to join a division, it is best to join a division like the NFC West compared to say the NFC East.
I can't name many coaches who who were successful in both college football and professional football. Matter of fact, I can only think of one...Jimmie Johnson.
Seattle's front office is the big problem...they don't have one. I honestly would have taken Leslie Frazier or Perry Fewell over Carrol...but I also would have given Jim Mora Jr. more than 1 year to prove himself...again, you can thank the front office for that.

How did he do before 2001? We won the division and went to the playoffs and they stayed home.

Brady is a great player.
Just answering your question...he went 11-5 with a backup quarterback. No he didn't make a playoff that year in a tough AFC division.
Are you really questioning Bill Belichick's coaching ability without Brady?
How was Brady in college...last I checked he wasn't an all-american.
The big thing YOU are overlooking is...college football and the NFL are NOT the same...
