Do you mean the metal like in Bailey's setup? If so you need to go to home Depot or Menards or Lowes and buy unpainted flashing. You then need to cut it with tin snips. Wear gloves, trust me on this I used to work with tin all the time and you will thank me later. I built a jig (a tool that you could use as a sort of template). It will make it much easier.
Hope this helped

its just sheet metal.....the bending kinda sucks unless you have a break but it will work out just take your time.

Re: cb-70 rack questions
I think what you're looking for is Aluminum tape, used to hold ducts together. It's great stuff and I find it sticks to ANYTHING.
You can find it at hardware stores such as Lowe's and Home Depot. Here's a link to some from one of their sites.
Aluminium Foil Tape
You can also buy it from The Bean Farm. You will find it under their Heating section on the bottom of the page
I've found the cheapest place to get it is at the hardware store. There are a couple different thicknesses. i've always used the thinner stuff and usually find a roll for around $6

Re: cb-70 rack questions
If you are using Tim's plans you MUST use the metal...it is what supports that flex across the 2x2's...but you don't need to use metal galvanized rolls and try and bend them (pain the the you know what)
Instead, go to Lowes or Home Depot and in the wood area they sell 8' aluminum wall studs...you can cut them to length and then just notch the ends so they sit in between the 2x2's. (then continue wth Tim's instructions)

They aren't that bad...about the same as a wood 2x4. Here in Indiana they run about $5 per 8' piece. They are made of alumium so they are light.
