First Tornado warning of the year...

    Sheesh, gotta love southern Alabama...

We've had the coldest weather on record, in between it gets warm enough for T-shirts. Up and down like CRAZY!!

Top it off, this morning the emergency radio, phone, sirens, all goes off at once !! Tornado warning. Not a watch, no prior talk of "possibilities" in the forecast.

Nope, just a "take cover now" out of nowhere. Sheesh. Of course the cat runs off under the Bed, the dogs run left and right and its utter pandemonium. I hate tornadoes...

We were lucky again, though, although there are still storms around..

But not to many years ago we had one that destroyed the entire high school to the ground and nine kids got killed.

The weather here is just stupid ...

Yeah it's been cold down here I remember one day it didn't get above 20 degrees (that's really cold for alabama). I'm in birmingham and don't remember any tornado warnings but jeez it seems really early for it. This morning it was warm enough to wear a t-shirt but it's supposed to drop 20 degrees in the evening. Very strange up and down weather this year. I couldnt get myself prepared for the cold this year because it doesn't stay cold lmao.

I'm about 4 hours below you and it was UGLY. Its still grumbling and raining.
Still, it came without any kind of "warning". Normally you will get a "hey watch out..." a day before, then a "Tornado watch".

We got a "take cover now". sheesh...

    Glad it missed you!!!

New England weather has been very odd this year too. Coldest stretch in over 100 years, yet barely any snow. I just got in from shoveling, I think only the 5th storm I've had to shovel all winter. I've actually seen bare grass more than snow this winter. But man, it's been cold. LOTS of single digit weather and below zero weather. But then it gets into the 40s plus for a few days, melts any snow on the ground and then bang, back to 4 degrees over night. Weird.

Well dang up here we just had some rain and a really heavy fog. I'm really hoping we don't have a bad year with tornadoes. They scare me pretty bad lol.

    Yes, I hate them, too.

Remember April 27 2011 ? We had 394 confirmed Tornadoes throughout the south east (Alabama got the worst)..15 of them severe (F4 and F5) IN ONE DAY!

Unbeknownst to me, my Mother and Brother were flying in THAT DAY (from Germany) to surprise me on my birthday !!

If I had known they were on the way, flying through that mess, I would have been frantic with worry. They barely made it, with flights cancelled left and right and even the car rental about to close shop that evening..They had quite the exciting trip

I was gonna mention it. I was burried in a closet with my laptop playing the weather station because we don't have a basement. Really strong audible wind where I was. Luckily I had no house damage, but many people did. Over 300 fatalities through the south.

Have you ever been to Vulcan park? You're a good distance so probably not but earlier that day I had visited the Vulcan statue which has a high balcany, and I legitimately thought I was going to fly off. I'm amazed they let me up.
