I am looking for some help with a Coke cooler incubator I am currently working on The dimensions of the cooler are approximately 3 foot deep and 4 to 5 foot high the problem I have are finding a fan strong enough to circulate the air in this style of incubator properly I currently have 2 six inch fans that are portable they have 2 2 settings on them but at the highest setting it still does not circulate air the whole way down to the bottom of the incubator I am worried it is not strong enough to do proper circulation within the incubator if anyone has built this style of incubator before and have what they used as far as fans go much help would be appreciated if pictures are available please post those also for this will help to in my planning of this incubator I thank you so much for your time I need to find this out as soon as I can for eggs should be on their way soon thanks again

Why not place one fan on top facing down and the other on the bottom facing up? That should be enough to keep everything circulating.

I have a 24 cubic ft true cooler and I dealt with this problem by going over board and picking up a bathroom ceiling fan at home depot and plugged it straight into a zoo-med rheostat for infinite control of the fan speed.

I point the fan towards the back of the incubator because of the heat tape on the sides. This won't be an issue this coming season as we are placing a false wall in the back of the incubator.
The heat tape will reside behind that false wall and the fan will mount to the wall and suck the air across the heat tape and out into the incubator.
The bonus of doing it this way is that there is no hot spots inside of the incubator since the heat tape is hidden behind the false wall.




I found that the fan on the bottom works better for these large upright incs

I have 1 small computer fan in my stand up freezer, and it works fine.....temp is the same anywhere in the incubator.......

Was there any prob with that type of fan running 24/7. I heard they were not meat to run all the time. I also thought of using one but was told it may burn out quick but I guess on a dimmer switch it may be ok thanks

Between my partner and a friend of ours we have 3 large incubators that were on most of the last year running 24/7 with no issues at all.
We have two 12 cubic foot incubators and this 24 cubic foot incubator set up the same way and they all kicked butt this past season.
