Anyone Familiar with Pimsleur Method og Language Learning?

I have always wanted to learn Japanese but have never had the time. But I recently ran across some articles on the Pimsleaur Method. Apparently, it focuses on learning the language from sound only. So just like a child learns to talk before reading and writing, this does the same thing.

It makes sense to me. My Dad said he never had a lesson but picked up Korean when he was stationed there just by listening and talking with the locals.

However, I would like to know if anyone here has any experience.

    Thanks.
