Such a hard thing to watch. I hate to see things like this and know that they are going on. Something that happens when you destroy the rain forest that isn't covered in here is that it also is affecting coral reefs. My son did a study on it last year and it was devastating. They clear the forest and all the setiment washes down into the river....then it is taken out into the ocean. This covers the coral reefs not allowing sun to get to it and it kills the coral reefs and all the life within. Just so sad!!!

While I don't agree with a lot of the climate debate and do think its a natural cycle of the earth. I do believe that destroying these places will hurt us and all of the wildlife that lives there. Just sad that as a world we are not recognizing what effect this has on everything.

I know. If we continue to cut down the forest at this rate, there will literally be now rainforest left. Sure, 1 billion acres seems like a lot to our standards, but to the earths standards, it is not. The rainforest covers less than 3% of the earths surface. We didn't have a lot to begin with, and were still cutting it down. Whats wrong with us? We have become so dependant on modern things. Computors, phones, etc. Yea, they are all really convinent, but we CAN live without them, we did for thousands of years.

I would GLADLY give up ALL my electronics and have all my modern things taken away, if it ment we could stop taking, and taking, and taking away from the earth and nature, and never give back.

I would even give up my snakes, and that says a lot.
