I've been using the Z00-Med Eco-Earth, which the pair of Rosy Boas seemed to love to burrow into. But I read that the Zilla desert Blend Crushed Walnut works well for them. But since I changed it out this morning, the pair hasn’t tried to burrow. Is this to dense/course a substrate to use for baby Rosy Boas? Should I switch back to the Eco Earth?
Second, while I'm asking questions about setup, I'm using an UTH and a 25w light with a 10 gallon tank. Will this be sufficient heat source for the Rosy's? I've got about 1" of substrate (since they like to burrow) and leave the UTH at approx. 85°F while the cool side stays at about 79°F. I am using Accurite dual temp thermostats with probe (attached to the top side glass) to monitor temps.
Thanks in advance for the help!
