    Feeding Holdbacks

I was wondering how often and what size everybody fed their holdbacks? I just got a female pewter that is ~900 g and I don't want to power feed her, but would like to get her to size by January or February. Would 1 weanling rat or 1 small rat every 5 days be too much? Any input is welcome and I appreciate any help.

P.S. She was born 3/31/08 so she will be around 22-23 months when I plan on starting pairing her if she gets the weight on.

most of my snakes get switched to rats once their 400 grams. I start off at wean rats then work up to small rats. i never feed more than one small rat to my biggest

At 900grams hell take a small rat no problem.

I say she needs another year. Has she started eating for you? Sometimes they have to settle in before eating. I have a 07 woma that will be getting another year before breeding. Feeding every 5 days won't hurt. Small rat is the right size. She will probably go off feed sooner or later, which is normal but may slow the growth you want.

I feed every 3 days from hatchlings to around 500g, after that I move them to every 5-7 days. A small -med rat will be fine for that size female.

I got her the first weekend of August and she took the rat as soon as I put it in her tub wed. the 12th. I thought that a small would be better than a weaner, I just wasn't sure because the smalls I usually get at the pet store are like 60-75 g. That's what I feed when I do every week, but wasn't sure about every 5 days.

I was kind of planning on one small every 5 days and really just wanted to make sure that this wouldn't be too much. Sterlings can wait if they're gonna put her health in jeopardy.
