    ASF's not breeding... too hot??

I have current litters growing up, but they are not getting preggers...
I keep them in the same room as my reptiles...
(don't flame, the snakes don't care one way or the other)
The room is kept at about 78-80 degrees....
Could that be too hot for them?

    Let me know thanks
    Carol

no, definately not too hot. I keep my ASF's in the garage and this time a year that means they get up to 93 degrees at hottest point of the day.

You say you have "current litters growing up".. what does this mean? You set up new breeding groups that havent gotten preggo yet? If so it is either that they just arent' old enough yet, or you got sexed them wrong.

Their natural habitat is Africa, and it gets pretty hot there, so I doubt it is because it is to hot.

sounds like they just aren't old enough yet...

the whole "5 weeks they can get pregnant" info is absolute best terms...

mine were nearly 4 months old and kept together since near birth

one thing is certain, once they start breeding good luck keeping ahead of them.

Carol, quite a lot of us hobbyists keep our snakes and rodents in the same room.

I insulated my garage door, and I keep the pantry door open that connects the house to the garage... this lets just a little tiny bit of the houses AC in the garage.... ending in a temperature that won't go above 93

Re: ASF's not breeding... too hot??

I have 2.5 breeding trio's I lost one female out of one trio, and have an OLD (original female) in with 2 younger ones, a male/female who has pups...
My other breeding group is actually a quad 3/1 and they have 2 litters but only one really young set..
I haven't gotten as many as I normally do, and they are under a year old, or just about 6 months old.
