    Got some dented eggs?

I have had some I would say are as much as 40-50% deflated, and deflate as much as 60% a week prior to hatching! Maybe 60% is extreme but I have had eggs that look a little more than half 'deflated' prior to hatching. But they always end up hatching no matter how worried I get.

I think I worry more about mold than anything now.

I would try adding some moisture to them Pat. They should pop back out. If not they should be alright.

Agreed, I had the same thing happen. Added more moisture and it didnt pop them back all the way but it helped.

where is the dented egg?! All those eggs look fine Pat.

This is what dented eggs look like.... (and they looked like this for about the last three weeks of incubation. all turned out just fine)

    Re: Most Dented Egg

I think you need to add a bit of water to your mix.

Mike's eggs, while they hatched, were borderline too dry.

Personally, I've misted eggs, even ball python eggs, when I thought they were too dry.

You could also put a container of water in there to help raise the humidity in that particular container.

They don' look bad now but it's something that needs to be addressed.

    Re: Most Dented Egg

Pat, eggs at 15 days should not be dented AT ALL. They need higher humidity!!! You might consider I would go substrateless. Many will scoff at it. It is the only method I have ever used -- and ever will. It is a lot less work than mixing must be.

If you think you might go that way and you want detailed directions. Give me a PM. I would be glad to walk you through it.

I agree with Bill here the substrateless method is the best way for newbies and even a great way for peoplethat have been breeding for years.
