    Re: My chinchillas

Oh they are too cute! I was checking out Chins last year and found a website of a breeder here in Ohio. Until I saw her site I was not aware that they come in such a variety of colors. Yours are just lovely and obviously well cared for and loved.

    Re: My chinchillas

Thanks guys! They certainly are loved.

I've owned chinchillas for the past 10 years, and just 5 years ago did I know about the mutations. There certainly are a lot of them. Sadly my other 2 mutes passed away 2 months ago, along with my oldest chinchilla Schroeder(13). I had a giardia outbreak, and after dealing with moron vets, I finally got someone that got them better, but after having losing my other 3. But my remaining seven are even more special to me for this very reason!

So cute!! Those are some really nice looking chinnies! I'm especially partial to the PW, and I LOVE the little spot on the mosaic

I'm so sorry to hear you lost two of your babies from Giardia. May I ask what you did end up treating them with?

    Re: My chinchillas

Wow, I didn't even see this. Well, it's old, but I shall respond anyways.

I treated them with Flagyl first(It takes more than one treatment to get rid of this bug). After treating them with the Flagyl, I lost one more chin. I took them to another vet and he prescribed Panacur, and sure enough, that cleared them of it! I just hope that I never have this again. I think they picked it up from the chinchilla show.
