New Member saying hello
Hi,
We added a Ball Python to our family yesterday. Here is a quick snap from last night after letting it get settled a little. Once the initial shock of moving in is over we'll post some better pictures.
So far the community here looks great.

Welcome to the site!
You have a beautiful BP. I bet he will enjoy his new home with you. This site is really helpful and I have learned a lot ever since I joined. Hope you enjoy it here!

Re: New Member saying hello
Thank you.
We bought him/her at a pet store. We have been told and read that a week is about the appropriate time before handling the snake. It was fed over the weekend so I figure we can take it out Saturday, clean the cage and let it eat.
In your experience what is the waiting period after it eats before we can start handling it and getting it used to us?

Thank you.
I use a Canon SLR type camera. I think i'll be shopping for a macro lens before too long now that we have the BP.

you need to wait 24-48 hours for digestion. but... leave it alone in its new home for a week so it can get used to its new surroundings. trust me, thats exactly what everyone told me to do. if you want it to be happy and for it to eat for you, do this.
