Selling my first clutch need help.

Well I will have my first clutch hatching in the next week. I was wondering since the price of spiders has dropped so low should I being new to the scene go a little lower then the norm, or should I stick with the average price of the market and hope someone puts their faith in me and buys my animals. Thanks guys. Just not really sure how to go about it. Thanks again.

If you sell for a lower price than the normal price of Spiders, you may have more people who would want to purchase them. If you do want to stick with the normal price, but still don't want to charge a whole lot, try selling the snakes for the lowest you can sell a Spider. Either way, you may have more people who would want to purchase them.

Go with the norm. As long as you don't have debt collectors breathing down your neck, might as well wait for someone who's looking for a quality snake rather than a cheap deal.

It's hard to raise your prices, I know only because, like many things, I've done it to see what would happen.

You can always lower them.

I'd start out asking what you'd like to get and take it from there. Being unknown is not in and of itself a drawback, especially when you can provide references for your stock, care, and general goodguyness.

I'd vouch for you, though that is a two edged sword if ever I've seen one, but I am sure others of a more genial nature would as well.

That is so true! Hopefully I get one when the reptile expo near me comes up!

I would say it's hard to tell until they hatch and you see the Quality of the babies. You may have a super smokin spider that would go for an above average price. I don't think you should have to dump prices just because you are unknown. I believe quality animals will sell regardless of pricing as long as it's reasonable.

Thanks guys I just didn't want to try and sell them for the norm 250-300 or whatever they are going for now and sit on them forever but I guess the unknown thing doesn matter as much as I thought. Come to think of it, most of my purchases were through unknowns and my only larger name breeder purchase ended up no soo great. I got the wrong animal lol. I will just let it ride and see what happens. THanks again.

Another thing is that if you do sit on them for awhile their value goes up as they gain more weight. Something to consider. Prices will always drop with each generation but no need to hasten the decline.
