Question Heating/lighting whats the best way to go?

So I have a BP and was wondering whats the best way to do its lighting and heating. UVA or no UVa, UTH or basking light. its in a cage not a tub so please answer with solutions for a tank, thank you.

the tank is next to a window so it gets plenty of daylight from that. currently i have a 150w exo-terra daytime heat lamp in a black ceramic dome and a longer exo-terra repti-glo 5.0 uvb tropical terrarium lamp in a cover thing. these two are on during the day. then at night I have red light (forget the wattage) on the opposite side of the basking light. the long light is in the center. Is this a good setup? they er on a timer.
Please tell me your advice, thanks!

Sounds alot like mine. Balls do not require a UV light but I have one for the live plants since the cage doesn't get sun. Just be careful that the sun does not heat the cage to much on sunny days.

They also do not need a night time temp drop. You can use the same watt night bulb as you do for days time.

get rid of that daylight bulb and use a red infrared heat lamp instead. also, that's uva/b light is a waste. that's all you need. my bp is in a tank but i'm about to switch to a tub.

    RE: KMG and Python Baller

So my newest idea is this: two heat mats; one on the cool side and one on the hot side, attached to thermostats, having different temps for each side, than up top I will have a low UVA like a 2.0 or something for the winter for the short days, and will have two infrared lights on each side with a higher wattage one on the hot side and a lower wattage on the other side. Will be on a timer and thermostat.
    tell me your ideas
    thanks
I'm not a tub person, don't recommend tubs...

If your tank gets sun light the uv bulb is just a waste. Your snake does not need it so the only way it will benefit your tank is if you have live plants.

If you get the correct temps with that setup it is just fine. Sounds good to me. Just remember to keep extra bulbs.
