The snake will grow, then shed because they have outgrown that "skin" They continue to grow through out their lives, never stopping, but they slow down when they reach adulthood. Not sure what the original question meant, hopefully that answered it.
As far as feeding during a shed, a few people on here say they do. I fed mine yesterday and he went into blue today, so it's ok to feed during a shed, but with snakes being more "sensitive" during a shed, yours may not want to eat.
