    1. place in baggie submerge in very warm water to thaw.
    2. leave in baggie & let thaw in counter for couple hours.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, put them in the microwave. That is one helluva nasty mess to clean up...

    Re: Thawing frozen food.

    - let it thaw in a cup/bowl of water. dip in hot water for ~1 minute once done then dry on paper towel
    - submerge in water with baggie

the amount of time depends on size of prey item. i thaw baby mice in 20-30 mins.

    I agree with eMonk

You can just submerge the rodent directly in a bowl of hot water from tap. (Not boiling hot water)

You don't need to wrap the rodents in plastic, I just directly put it in the water.

15-20 min is good enough. Also, feel the rodent ( sqeeze it ) to make sure that its fully thawed and warm inside. BP's won't take anything that's cold.

Then dry it with paper towel.

Feed it with a feeding tonge.

    Have fun!

    Re: Thawing frozen food.

The only problem I found with wet rodent is the substrate sticks to it. So, I'll have to either hold the rat the entire time or move the snake to a substrate-free feeding bin. Of course, this doesn't apply to newspaper/paper towel substrate...

So, a little whiff of the hair dryer might be needed.

    Re: Thawing frozen food.

The best way to thaw them is take a kabob skewer and put it up the back side and out the mouth. place them on the grill and baste with teriyaki.
After cooking place the rat on a bed of wild rice with some fresh steamed vegetables. And some pineapple to add some extra sweetness.

Another method i use is to place them under a ceramic heat light. Not close enough to burn though. Man that stinks.
