Um no, you shouldn't be rooting for these reptiles to over run fl.! That is the equilavent of supporting the people who dumped their reptiles in the wild in the first place. Plus, these animals (especially monitors) are capable of severly damaging my home state's native wildlife.

We wouldn't have as much legal issues in the reptile pet trade if people would research pets and not be dumb enough to let these animals go. This is fueling mistrust for reptiles as dangerous or environmentally hazardous.

well the thing that lawmakers dont understand is there not environmentally hazardous everywhere. Just because they can survive in florida does not mean they can survive all over the usa. I saw a map on some website talking about burmese pythons how some scientist was saying he thinks they are going to migrate north and showed where he thought they could survive and theres no way. I could let all my animals go tonight and they would all be dead in a week

don't even get me started on the whole florida is the enemy!! the state government won't let anyone trap any non natives in the glades....most of which weren't dumped by people but we lost during hurricane andrew.

i think,,if florida would allow burm permits, liek they do with gatorrs,100 bucks per permit,2 animals per permit, sell 2000 of them, would be 200000 dollars mroe going into thier eradication efforts,as well as 2000 people they dont have to pay helping, and 4000 animals a year removed they dont have to do,,but,,thier idiots
