New bp, mites possible?!?!
hey guys.
just got a new bp.really nice looking forward to having him.
just a min ago i seen a tiny lil bug on him,it was black
im thinking it may be a mite.(praying its not)
soo weather it is or not my girlfriend and i are going to clean out his cage
and get some spray. what kind should i get
but with that what are the symptoms for mites?he's not saoking in is water bowl so im guessing its not that serious.
so just help me out pleas with a couple of tips

You should get enough through, ive heard people use 3/4in. You could try putting the flexwatt on the inside then covering it with linoleum or plexiglass and sealing it.

Errr,
Is it just me or does this not make any sense?
I suspect you meant to reply in the thread asking if enough heat could get through 3/4 plywood from flexwatt taped outside of it?

Get PAM (provent a mite). I think you can only get it online and at some reptile shows. Just google the name and some sellers should come up. It is a little pricey but that is the only thing that will actually get rid of the mites.
In the meantime, clean the enclosure out with a bleach solution and change your substrate to paper towels. Soak your snake a couple times, SUPERVISE. Do not leave your snake soaking unattended. Use room temperature water (or about 82*).
When you get the PAM, just follow the directions on the can.
