New BP owner but an old cat owner

Wanted to introduce myself to the group. I recently joined b/c my husband and I are picking up a BP later in the week, but my first love has always been cats. I think I have it in me to love something without legs, and non-furry just as much though

I also volunteer with a local feline rescue called Cats Cradle http://catscradleva.org a non profit, no kill rescue in Central Va. It's kitten season so we are very busy right now!

Welcome to BPNet! Please let us know if you need any advice regarding your new ball python, it's housing requirements (most of the stuff pet stores will sell you is pretty much useless or overpriced), or any other snake related questions. We have a caresheet on ball pythons here if you haven't already found it.

Thank you, I have printed the posts that talked about setting up a glass aquarium for the BP, and also the caresheets. VERY helpful info. I'm finding (like parenting I guess) everyone has "their way" of caring for them. So we need to find what works best for us. I'm heading out now to go look at the BP. Then back home to finish the tank set up, regulate temp and foresee/fix any problems. Then we will pick him up (unsure if his true gender) end of this week. I'm taking my cameara, so perhaps I can post pics later. Wish me luck!

My husband is the one who wants the snake, but in typical form, I'm the one that does all the research, then I tell him what to do. I told him I'd do everything to help take care, but I wasn't feeding. LOL
