Gut Load question

Has anyone ever used this stuff? if so is it any good?

What are you feeding? I've used gut loads for cresteds, but eventually just went with a calcium dust for leapords. Dust crickets before feeding. However, I also feed CGD as a staple, and crickets for extra nutrition.

imo, gutload is no better than feeding crickets any old thing to keep them alive. marketing has got every corner covered these days, sometimes we have to sit back and think how we used to get by without all these products.

i am no expert, don't take my info as biblical. i don't use gut load (have almost a full bottle sitting on a shelf) as it seems irrelevant to the health of my animals.

Insects cant digest a lot of calcium and it will kill them. If you want to gut load your feeders, feed them what you are feeding your pets. Like if i wanted to gutload some crickets for a beardie I would feed the crickets a lot of collards, turnip greens, etc...

BTW, how much is that stuff? Its probably water crystals + calcium + yellow/green food coloring.

I use that stuff (flukers brand) as you don't need to replace the water daily in the cricket tank. I also use monster and flukers brand cricket food which has calcuim. Basically it's so i don't have to powder my chickets ment for my pac-man as they get a pinkie monthly so they don't need powdered crickets.
