    Photography..

I've been getting into Photography a lot more lately, I was wondering what you guys all use to edit your photos. Besides the obvious Photoshop. I have been using Adobe Lightroom, I am very pleased with it. It seems to have a lot of cool features.

I was also wondering what equipment you guys use such as light boxes, cameras, lenses and what not. I currently DREAM of owning a DSLR, Right now I can't afford it, I have a Fujifilm Finepix 2000SD, from all the reviews I have read it's the next best thing. I have been very pleased with the quality of the photo.

So yea... thats about it... Im turning into a HUGE photography buff... so please all you you... SHARE!

    Re: Photography..

For post touchup, I use photoshop.

We use a light tent covered in muslin cloth and three white light flourescent bulbs. (Brilliant light is key!!)

We own a canon digital rebel xt, and a couple of canon len's, I think one is a 55mm, and the other goes up to 80mm. Both are very handy, but I like the 80mm because it goes down to 35m, which means I don't have to be standing 10 feet back to get the animals in the view.

I suggest you save up and get a dslr when you can. You will be amazed at the quality of your photo's when just set on auto!

I'm hoping to save up and get an even better Canon dslr when I have the money, but those things cost some money. And... I'm a noob when it comes to photography, I need to learn the technical side better before I go investing in a higher end camera.

It's funny you mention, because I had lightroom somewhere, but never used it, so I got rid of it!

That was before I got a nice camera.

    Re: Photography..

Mostly Photoshop and Digital Photo Professional, the latter for converting RAW to TIFF. For quickie Web shots I use Irfanview.

Right now I have a Canon 40D, 17-85 IS, 75-300 IS (had it for ten years, recently serviced for under $100 and it's like new again), and a 50/1.8. I want to get a 100mm macro next, but I'm not a gadget/lens freak, lol, and hardly ever buy new equipment. I also have a 580EX flash (about as powerful and adjustable as some studio lighting) with an off-camera cord; a few reflectors and an umbrella/stand setup; a light meter; and my trusty Bogen tripod that has been along on many miles of nature hikes.

I really like the ruggedness and intuitive ease of use of the 40D, but I don't use most of its bells and whistles. The camera is typically set to full manual or aperture priority, and ISO 100 whenever at all possible.

If you wanna check out my work, see my sig, and here is some of my nature stuff.

    Re: Photography..

I am by no means a "photographer" But I do enjoy doing it with my Point and Shoot Kodak V550 LOL.

I use Photoshop CS3 for everything.

I also just ordered a light tent...I know I dont have a good camera to use it with, but I am going to give it a shot.
