Feeding my mice, and cleaning them.

So I have been feeding my colony Authority lite dog food. I don't want to spend more feeding these hungry guys that it would cost me to just buy frozen mice. I would like to get them on something a little better like Mazuri block, but I can't find a local place to buy a 50lb bag, and shipping is just monsterous. Does anyone live in around KC and know where to get it?

Also for sanitizing I am wanting to use Chlorhexidine for both my snake and mouse tubs. I also can't find this locally and again, shipping is a nightmare. Does anyone have any ideas? I know Petsmart carries Chlorhexidine in a small 4oz bottle. I am looking for the gallon size. There are people in my household that can't handle bleach.

Am I pretty much stuck with the shipping?

Will the Authority dog food work just as well?

For mazuri you need to go on their site and check the dealer locator https://www.mazuri.com/Home.asp?Products=2

For Chlorhexidine this is the place http://www.agri-med.com/site/255063/product/CHLRHN2S16 where you will get the best buy ($9.15 per gallons compare to $15/$20 or more a gallons elsewhere) and shipping is very reasonable ($6.99)

I did use their dealer locator, it only told who carried their products, not what products. I started calling some of them, pretty much I just keep getting idiot employees that have no clue what I am talking about or even that there is a company called Mazuri. I am trying to save driving all over town so I am about done with this stuff. I am about ready to stick with Authority dog food.

Thanks though about the chlorhexidine. I will have to try them. I found it "locally" for 25 a bottle, but that site is still a bit cheaper.

I Know what you mean about mazuri I live in a rural area and when you call around feed store owners that you want to feed rats they go

What you need to do is call them and ask them if they can order the Mazuri 6F for you, if they are Purina dealers they can they just don't carry it.

The place where I get mine from does not carry it they only order it for me when I order it.

Finally found one. Thanks again on the disinfectant link!

Have you tried your nearby drugstores for the chlorhexadine? It's not just a critter product, and many of them carry it. I get mine from the one hubby works part-time at.
