    Tumor in Ear?

My male ASF has a tumor coming out of his ear, and its affecting his eye which is closed 24/7, what should I do, he is a good parent to his babies, should I keep him and let him keeping breeding or feed him off? With his eye shut I would believe he is in discomfort or pain.

I would put him down, and probably not feed him.

Hold back a male from his last litter to raise up with the girls to replace him. Go ahead and feed him off. Best to put him down first though, since they are quite a bit larger.

ASF's are prone to cancerous tumors and warts that grow incredibly fast.

put him down. Don't know what causes tumors like that. I had them in one of my first groups but never saw them again... My guess is it has something to do with feed and husbandry...

    Re: Tumor in Ear?

yeah off him and start an new group .. I got a couple that got the growths and I offe them and giveot the snakes. it only abnormal cell growth and many of the mammal diseases don't affect the snakes.. I have been waiting for my groups to start breeding again so I can retire the entire old group. I not had any young in like 2 months.
I am going to end up making 4 tanks and try to keep them set up with different birth mixures. so I can produce on a concent cycle and not have these periods of no birth/small .
