Anaconda tried to eat itsself?
sorry for the topic, had to throw something catch to get some attention, well heres what happened.
i was feeding my 4 month old yellow anaconda a hopper, and she went to strike and at the last second the hopper moved out the way, and my snake bit her own tail and attempted to coil, out of panick i hurry and picked her up and helped her get her tail out of her mouth, and now she hasnt ate since, its only been a day, but i read alot about after something like the mouse biting a snake or something the snake doesnt eat, and i dont want to worry so has anybody had this happen, and the snake refuse the meal and the outcome was good as in it ate the next week?

Although I have never had this happen, I think your conda will eat in a week no problem. I wouldn't try to feed any sooner than that give it a week to chill out. You could look at it this way, nothing you are going to do is going to make your snake want to eat so to worry about it does no good what so ever. Not that that will stop you from worrying about it. In the mean time I would invest in some feeding tongs to try to keep that from happening in future feedings.

You can live feed from tongs. It's not as humane, but I believe it's more safe for the reptile. I defiantly wouldn't worry about it. I had a tiny green tree miss the pink and bite it's own neck and coil. He's ate 5 days later without a problem. I had to shake him to get him to release his self because you don't wanna pull something that fragile. With a conda, I think you are safe.

lol sad
A possible fix to this particular problem is to look for a small freezer in local classifieds/craigslist. I'd bet you could find something for under $50, especially if you're somewhere with a state college nearby.

WOW
i had the smae issue with my Ball when he was a baby, bout 6 months old.
i however feed F/T, he was about to shed, so he did not have the best vision i assume, and missed the rat entirely and struck his tail, however he did latch on, he quickly let go, and within a minute he ate the Rat.
Bottom line, i wouldnt worry to much, im sure your snake can go an extra few days without the food, and by then im sure it will be hungry enough to scarf it down

She, if you can't read anyways, or understand a signature. Sorry I don't powerfeed my animals. That only happened once way back when, I switch from F/T to live, it's what I have at the time.
