    so a big girl....

So I have a well established female red tail that will hopefully one day be 10 feet. She is not very big yet... I just want time to plan. What is the best cage out there for such a snake? Love RBI racks for my balls... but what would you recomend for a big in the future female red tail?

Pretty sure Aaron meant to put this link there, or maybe even the 96" tubs, because she is going to need alot of room. But if I was you, I would either purchase one of the plastic cages, like proline caging at www.constrictorsnw.com or my favorite is the boamaster cages at www.boamaster.com. The boamaster cages are shipped unassembled, and they are pretty heavy, but if you compare prices and how the cages look once assembled I think you will see they are your better value. I just recently got one of his 5' cages for my male Dumeril boa and I love it, will probably get one or two more in the near future, just for 1 or two Boa projects I am going to work on. Hope this helps Mike.

Yeah, sorry for the confusion. I only have one Red tail, and I want her to be displayed... so no tubs or racks.... just a nice cage that will last forever. heat and lighting built in would be perfect.

4X2X? 12? 15? what? Pat I know these guys are your expertise.... who is making the best cage pricewise that includes heat? In this cage do I need to use heat pannel or can it be flexwatt?

Please guide me guys. I don't have a whole lot of money, and I want this cage to be a good investment.

    Re: so a big girl....

Personally I dont think you would need the 15, 12 is PLENTY of height. I know people that run flexwatt under the cage, and have very very good results. Same with the brands....I know people who use only boaphile and SWEAR by them. I know people who SWEAR to hate boaphile LOL.

AP or Boaphile...i dont think you could go wrong either way.

    Re: so a big girl....

I understand that there are many ways to keep boas~ that's my reason.

What I am doing for my female Bci's is making them a cages that are 4x2x6 (LxWxH). Now, pick your jaw up off of the floor for a second My boas love to climb and I would like to provide them that opportunity. I'll be putting in 2 shelves and drilling holes through them so that they can climb up and through. I'll be heating with 2 RHP's per cage. I'll be putting in two doors from the top and going about 4 feet down. I'll also have 2 doors on the bottom 1.5 feet of the cage for ease of cleaning.

Anyway, that's what I'm doing and I feel good about it and I think that my females will use the space and enjoy the freedom to the extent that a snake is capable of such a vibe
