Yea looks like she's got about a week to go. Unless it's a small litter.

I never use the golf ball look, I had a fat male once that looked like he was preggo. It is possible, keep her seperate from the male for a while, if it is not his litter he may kill them. If she has not had babies in 2 weeks then it is safe to put her in with the male. I have a lot of mice that get fed well so a lot of the time they look like they are preggo, but they are not, I have had no male/female interaction in 2 months, yet half my girls look about like yours.
    Good luck with her.

Re: I am going to breed mice again!!

I am starting to breed mice!! But How Do Ya Keep The Smell Down With The Male Mice? I have heard of people using vanilla extract and adding it to the water to keep their smell down, Does It Work? I use pine litter right now and what do ya use? I think pine smells better but does aspen work better to keep the smell down? I use to use aspen litter long time ago and also only had the females seperated from the male and he stunk but the females didn't smell bad, I cleaned once a week and fed them lab blocks but that was like in 2001 when I bred them so its been a long time!! So hopefully I don't look stupid asking so many questions even though I bred mice. Right now I am feeding hamster food as I get it free from someone and also the pine litter I sometimes get free as she has a dog rescue and gets open bags of food and litter from walmart as they would throw it out anyways!! I also named my mice and yes they need names too!! Their names are Ginger for the female thats pregnant and pepe for the male short for pepe lepew, Cause he smells!! Melissa

I switched to equine fresh about a month ago, and I noticed a difference. They still smell but not as bad IMO.

You keep down the smell by cleaning out the cage more! The aspen pellets (equine fresh) do help...

I go by my nose, and usually change out bedding for my rats and mice every 5-7 days.

Re: I am going to breed mice again!!

All the talk on this site of using equine fresh made me curious enough to give it a try last month. Prior to that I'd been using sanichips which can get quite costly for as many rodent tubs as I have going. The equine fresh is dirt cheap, easy to get, and wow it's cut down on the smell. Even the day before cleaning day, I don't notice that rodent smell in the rest of the house like I used to.
