    Concerned about a female

Ok, so I have this little female ball python I hatched that I am concerned about. She is in the range of 6-8 months (I threw out my old record book). She has never refused a meal. But until a week ago I started to get concerned about her. She has not urinated or defecated in about a month despite eating a few meals. I didn't think much of it. So I started feeding her a little less. Now I notice that the lower half of her body is very squishy/soft. I think she's constipated, but not 100% (she's soaking right now), I've never had this happen before. She is a small girl around 90 grams or so.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what it could be? If I had more money, I'd take her into the vet, but I'm flat broke since I quit my job(injury).

    Well, soak and manipulate.

Hopefully its constipation, and if it is, that should do the trick.

If not...I'm not sure. Maybe Bloat?

Yeah, constipation is what I'm 'rooting for' so to speak.

Thinking back I had a similar situation with a larger female who finally defecated after about 10 rats. But I don't remember if she was 'squishy' or not.

Squishy is better than hard in general...

Yep a good soak usually does the trick for me.
Let her soak for a little bit then gently slide her between your thumb and index finger with a little pressure ( Keyword Gently ) like you would squeeze out tooth paste.... But you don't want to brush with this stuff! Oh and another warning it can come out like a rocket! So be prepared for a little cleanup duty. If it doesn't happen with a little pressure don't force it you don't want to injure your snake. Then you might want to consider a vet visit or find a breeder in your area that can take a look at her and give you a better first hand opinion.

Question though, she is only 90 grams at 6 - 8 months of age?

Yeah. Slow grower. Her sibling is over twice her size.

I had a similar situation with a female pastel last year. Barely 200 grams at a year old. When one I hatched a month later skyrocketed to 600 grams within 8 months.
