    Talking Opinions on this camera.

Anyone have this camera, have had it, know someone who has it, or just has any input on it?

I have been doing a lot of research on different sites between Nikon and Canon DSLR's and although this one is a little more than what I wanted to spend I think I found my baby. I might have to wait a couple weeks but what do you think.

and I know I can get it on different websites, but I got a crap load of gift cards to best buy for xmas and my birthday. So it won't be that bad.

I have the digital rebel XT and love it. Very nice mid grade dslr. I honestly don't know where the Xsi compares to the XT, but you can't really go wrong in my book.

    Re: Opinions on this camera.

Lets see, self cleaning sensor, I would love to have that right now... I have a spot on my sensor and its driving me nuts

    12mp, I only got 8.2
    3" LCD nice

I don't see any problems with that camera. It takes a little bit to get used to a DSLR, but once you do, its worth it.

I will say make sure you have extra hard drive space on your PC and if you shoot raw, expect the files to come out rather large, but you don't have to worry about that right now.

From my 30D my raw files are around 7mb and I usualy convert them to 16bit tiff and those come out HUGE, but as I said, you probably don't need to worry about that right now

I think you will be happy with this camera

My girlfriend has a very comparable Nikon, and she just adores it. You don't think you can go wrong with your choice.

And don't forget that sometimes the right accessories, such as a good macro or telephoto lens, or external flash, can make all the difference, it is a good idea to look into what is available for that model if those kinds of options matter to you.

    Re: Opinions on this camera.

The XSi is a little over rated for my taste. I like the 8 mpx canon eos. It's much more reasonable in price, which is what i look at. I have friends who shoot photos for magazines (ride bmx) and a lot of them shoot with canon Mark 3 but Andrew uses a Nikon 20D (D 20?) and shoots better pics. It's the photographer, not the camera.

Just wondering if you pulled the trigger yet on a new camera
If you are interested I know of a couple websites that have reviews on the camera (and other), if you want them send me a PM, since I don't think I can link to them here
