    Silly Question :P

This will most likely be a silly question but I figured instead of consulting other forums that I've been looking at, I'd come here and ask you guys.

I read that a way to tell that your mouse is pregnant is if you place a piece of toilet paper in their habitat and they take it to their hide then it could mean they're pregnant (nesting). So, I tried that because my mouse has been looking a little fat and she came from Petco so it's not at all impossible that she is. Well, the next morning that I woke up the piece of toilet paper was inside her hide and she has been moving around like a nut all day and night. I constantly hear her rustling and she is bending some newspaper to make a sort of tee-pee like thing in the corner of the cage. Also, in her hide, she's been taking little crumpled pieces of paper and putting them into her hide.

So, the mystery I'm looking to solve is: Is my mouse pregnant?

If her abdomen is really large maybe, time will tell though

Well, that's the part I'm not too sure on. She's definitely a little chubbier than when I got her on Sunday and she's been really active. But sometimes she looks fat and other times she doesn't. Grrr.

Just keep breeding, I can tell if a mouse is pregnant it seems as soon as they show at all. It just takes looking at them for a while

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

Did the tail thing. She's looking a little fatter. I've been giving her more grapes than I normally give her and she's been mowing them down like nothing. Lol. I'm gonna give her some banana and peanut butter. Potassium will give her a little more energy.

She's still nesting. She's barely rested at all. She rests for about 3 hours and then is running all around all over again.

People in my house aren't too excited for 10 baby mice but I am

Trust me, you will know when they are pregnant. I myself asked the same question "how can I tell?" and people were laughing and just saying "you'll know, trust me, you'll know". And that is true, they look like they have swallowed a golf ball when they got about a week, a week and a half to go. When they are ready to blow I barely dare to touch them I feel like it could be a "tooth paste accident" if you know what I mean

just like everyone commented.. if she looks fat, not normal fat.. she give you pinkies.. give her hard boil eggs, as supplement for the developing pinkies & to boost her milk production once she give birth.

    Re: Silly Question :P

She looks fatter now. Just in case she IS prego, I've switched her regular food with parrot food and I've put in a piece of bread with some yogurt, a grape, a grape tomato, and some banana.

I used the parrot food because it has tons of corn and sunflowers seeds and because it has a lot of protein which I figure she'll be needing. I also can't leave my house because it's snowing like a mo fo out so I'm trying to give her what I can from the pantry.

I'll be making her some hard boiled eggs tonight.

    Thanks for everyone's help!
