Sandy in monochrome pic (A bit experimental)

Not sure if I should post this here (its a cat photo) or in the photo section as this is more of an experimental photograph of one of my cats. I will just stick the photo here but if the mods want to move it they can

The other night I was messing around with my camera shooting in available light as to avoid using the flash. I also wanted to experiment with high ISO (1600 in this case) and a fast lens (the canon 50mm f/1.8) stopped down slightly to f/2. I figured the high ISO would be noisy and I was right, but also while shooting, I figured I would just convert the image to monochrome and hope the noise would work for the image. Another reason for the wide Aperture was to make the dept of field really shallow (basicly blur the background).

Once I got the image, I opened up CS3 and made a few minor basic tweaks then used the channel mixer with my own mix of numbers to make the final black and white image.

Once again, its a large file, so here is the link:

    Enjoy

And hope everyone has a happy holiday!
