    Going to have first litter

Well I have had my eye on my white/light brown female for the past week cause she has been gaining weight pretty fast compared to the other female. I checked on them today and she is pregnant. I have had my male in with the 2 females for alomost 2 months now and FINALLY he gets the job done. I dont think the other female which is white/black is going to breed. She is a spaz like she is posesed or something. She just randomly freaks out and jumps around its kinda weird. I have caught her numerous times walking upside down on the top of the wire top.

I have a few ?'s though will she be fine having her babies in there with the other female? The other female isnt pregnant she wont try to hurt the babies will she? I can remove her just dont like the fact of when I put her back in there will be territory issuses with her.

Re: Going to have first litter

With first time moms and parents its very hard to tell what will happen. I had a 3 tub system with 3 females and one male in each one, 2 of the 3 tubs did great, and one tub I had to remove all the babies but one because they started to eat them all!

Thumbs up Re: Going to have first litter

First off CONGRATS on your first litter!

The spaz mouse may be a little hyper. A lot of my ASF's hang on the wire roof to eat. So that could be normal. Either that or she is working out to build up her muscles to keep the males at bay

As for separation, it complete depends on you. My first mouse litter I separated just because i was scared and I did not want my wife and kids to see what could happen if a mouse freaked about the new babies. Now i am more of "let nature take its coarse" with my help.

Again CONGRATS! and i think we will need some pictures when they arrive.
