    My New Ball!

Here's my new BP. I have yet to name him. He's an '07 Normal weighing in at a light 312 grams. He's my first BP, but I also own a corn snake.

I'm going to be building a light tent soon so when I do that I will try to get some better pictures.

Nice. Can I ask where you got him from? Also looks like he's about to shed for ya.

    Cheers,

I love that amelanisitic! A fabulous example. very very pretty.

Your bp looks like he might shed, but looks dry, do your best to up his humidity a LOT for the next few days and give him a rough rock of sorts to rub up on. If he still doesn't shed and still looks like that, give him a good soak and help peel it off with a damp towel.

Good luck and welcome. If you have any questions feel free to ask and make sure to read the caresheet on here to double check everything husbandry wise.

He's definitley one of the better Amels I have seen, most Amels never get as orange as that.

    Re: My New Ball!

Here's some more pictures I got from his first feeding (on live mice) with me.

Note: He does have retained eye caps, and these pics were taken before he was soaked to get the retained shed skin off of his head.

    The Kill:

    Now, the easy part:

No, go back! You're not supposed to eat the mouse from the end, you silly little snake!

    Ahhh, much better!

I could have sworn there was a mouse there a few seconds ago...

And here's a picture from today, showing the removed shed skin. He still has retained eye caps, but with some luck he'll get them off in his next shed. If not, It's a trip to the herpetologist.

P.S. I don't think he's about to shed, I think that the retained eye caps were tricking everybody into thinking that.
