Re: What is the longest amount of time you have left your BP and enclosure unattended

Change my vote from 1-2 days to 4-5 days. I recently went on vacation for a while and left my girl alone. She got fed, watered, and cleaned out before I left and she was perfectly fine. If I was gone for much more than a week, I would probably have a neighbor come over to check the temps. Make sure nothing caught on fire.

This has actually been the very reason why I have decided to expand my collection with more snakes instead of more lizards. I love travel and lizards (especially high-maitenance ones like beardies) kind of keep one from traveling. On the vacation said above, I took my beardie with me, but I wouldn't take multiple lizards. That's why I've decided to get more snakes instead of more lizards. Just something I've been thinking a lot about lately.

I've left them for a week without being checked, they were all fine! I'm leaving again this summer for a week, but I think I'll have someone come over and check on them since my boyfriend will be with me.

Re: What is the longest amount of time you have left your BP and enclosure unattended

The longest I go is overnight or if I'm at work. Even then, if I get up in the middle of the night, I will go check on my guys and gals to make sure all is well. I guess I'm obsessed with them, what can I say? My wife and I don't even take vacations because we would worry about our pets the whole time we were gone.

If its for -3 days, I clean and fill water before I leve the place, put the dark lights in and leave the curtains open for day night. If im gone longer, I give a friend who is also here on BP.net and just peak and fill, check temp.

Re: What is the longest amount of time you have left your BP and enclosure unattended

I have to leave for a few days at a time for work, and I love traveling (though my budget isn't going to allow any forays for a while). I could never have a pet that needs a lot of daily care, though I check out both my boa and betta every day, and do spot-cleaning, feeding, water changes, etc. when needed.

I'm lucky that my landlord is not only not afraid of snakes, he actually likes them, so he has no problem coming in every day to make sure Chew has water, and the fish gets fed. So far I have only been gone a few days out of a week, so I just feed the boa before I leave.

If I ever get enough money to hit Europe this year, I'll be out for 10-12 days. I may ask my sister to come in to feed the boa then
