Re: What is the longest amount of time you have left your BP and enclosure unattended

I don't get away as much as I used to but they are fine on their own for a week or so -- anything more and I leave hubby home to refill bowls and clean cages.

My rescues I don't go check on but once or twice a week unless they have a medical need that requires me to be there more.

They're balls they'd prefer to be left alone, unless we come bearing gifts of rats and mice.

I left them once for a week and it was fine. I'm planing on going for 2 weeks this year. I will have someone check in on them once or twice. That's an awesome perk of having snakes, they don't have to be cleaned or eat everyday. I love that!!

My step-dad watches the reptiles when I'm away. So they've been at the most left alone for 3 days but I've left for 2/3 weeks.

Re: What is the longest amount of time you have left your BP and enclosure unattended

The longest I have left my bps was a week. Over this holiday season, it will be 10 days. I don't feed them before I leave and I clean their tubs and water bowls. I would ask my roomate to check on them, but I know he wouldn't. But he does check the temps for me, which is probably the most important thing.

Re: What is the longest amount of time you have left your BP and enclosure unattended

I'm comfortable leaving them for a week. If I'm going to be gone much longer than that, I arrange for someone to look in on them, just to make sure enclosures aren't soiled and they have fresh, clean water. I've never had to ask anyone else to feed 'em.

Re: What is the longest amount of time you have left your BP and enclosure unattended

over the christmas break i wasn't for sure if one of my roommates would be arround to take care of Lennie- so i took him with me. i actually just finished setting up a makeshift tub for him while we are down here, just need to find a waterdish that will fit. i'm going to be down here for over two weeks, so i figured this was the easiest way to go.

A week is easy, I've done it several times. I've done over 10 days, but I also used over sized water bowls then.

So far 1 day. But I know they'll be fine if I leave for a week. I would clean them, and have my brother check the temps.

Re: What is the longest amount of time you have left your BP and enclosure unattended

3-4 days. I know my ball python and boa would be safe if their enviroment was normal, but unfortunately my roommates like to "save money" on electricity by keeping the apartment at either >80 or <60. Thankfully, plastic bins are easy to come by, and if I can't take them with me, I have a few friends I trust enough to babysit.
